Snoods

When Annie was a little puppy her Auntie Lisa made her some snoods. For those of you who are like "what the heck is a snood" it is a fabric thingy that you can put on dogs heads to hold their ears back, so they dont drag on the ground, in their food, water, etc. As you can guess, quite nice for bassets and their long ears. Well, not surprisingly Annie didnt like to wear them, but I never threw them away because they were custom made for her.

Anyway, Ian and I went to see a movie (or something) and we came home and Lisa had decided to get them back out after about 6+ years and put them on both dogs. Annie didnt mind hers but Jaska was not too happy about it. She kept trying to get it off with her paws and it would make part come down and cover 1 eye, so they were calling her a pirate all night. The doggies are just so funny sometimes :)

Just Keep Swimming

Since its summer in Texas, we have been hitting the pool a lot. Here are some of our many swimming adventures from the past few weeks.

2 months old!!

Logan is now 2 months old and i have no clue where the time went. He is just soooo much fun to be around and i am getting super bummed that i will have to go back to work in 2 weeks.







Some 2 month tid bits:

• he loves to smile BUT he also loves his pouty lip too
• he is all about cooing, his favorite "word" is oh, its so darn cute when he says it
• he did awesome when he got his 2 month shots, he did cry, but it wasnt anywhere near as bad as i thought
• he has gained 2 pounds, up to 12 pounds (50th percentile)
• he has grown 2 inches, up to 24 inches (75th percentile), so that means he is tall, not getting that from me
• and his head is in the 50th percentile
• he loves to be outside, even though its like 100+ degrees. we of course keep him in the shade so he doesnt burn. he could be screaming his head off and all you have to do is step outside and he stops
• he likes to sleep, he one night (really morning) slept 8 hours in a row. however, he typically sleeps 4 hours, eats, then sleeps another 4 to 6 hours
• he is loving having his family around, he visits them as often as he can (which is pretty often) and they just hold him the whole time
• he is really starting to look at objects much better but hasnt yet started reaching out for them, but i think that will come any day now

He is just amazing and we love him!!!

Random Logan

Just wanted to post some random pics of him from the past few weeks. He has been enjoying the hot weather (he loves it) and having his family around.

Doesnt he just look precious! He loves his bouncy seat and loves to snuggle up with a blanket.

The dogs were at their posts. They follow this little boy everywhere, he will be well protected his doggy friends.

Jealous much?

This is Auntie Lisa posting on behalf of the Richardson Family. I have been in Austin this week starting my new job and will be flying back to Chicago in the morning to move down there permanently! I was resting due to a serious headache this evening and Logan fell asleep on my chest. So freakin' cute! Mimi decided to take a picture and well...as you will see Annie was a bit jealous.

All of these pictures were taken within 2 minutes! She was constantly moving to stay between Mimi and Logan. What a silly girl!

4th of July

We went to celebrate Logan's first 4th of July at the neighborhood pool. We actually went on the 5th of July as we were busy and didn't make it out. We both wanted to see Eclipse and we were gonna wait until Lisa got here in 2 weeks for her to watch Logan, but instead I went at 11am and Ian went at 3pm, so our day was basically gone.

Anyway, so we went today and had another fun time in the pool!

1 Month and 5 Years

1 Month

Logan turned 1 month old yesterday, so just like Amanda and Abby I have decided to document each month by sitting him in his glider (like Amanda) with Patches (like Abby) to document his growth. Anyone that doesnt know Patches she is my bear that I stole from Mom about 25 years ago and I take with me wherever I go. Ian has also grown quite close to Patches over the past 10 years and I am sure Logan will form a special bond too.






Just a few things about our little guy:

• He has a killer pouty lip that will get him far with me
• He loves to sleep, often times sleeping so long that I decide to wake him up cause I know he must be hungry
• He has a good set of lungs on him (as I am hearing right now)
• He has started actually tearing up when he cries now
• He HATES, I repeat HATES being naked!!!
• He doesnt like bath time (see above)
• He has started following things, well, not so much things but voices and faces. I think things will come in the next few days.
• He loves to be held, thank goodness we have ordered a sling and it should be here anyday!!
• He is always touching his face and his hair, it calms him. He also likes when I touch his face or rub a blanket on his face. It doesnt always work, but does a lot of the time.
• He has explosive poops. They really arent too big, but man, are they loud, its sooo funny.
• He has everyone wrapped around his little finger, than stinker :)
  

5 Years

Today Ian and I are celebrating our 5 Year wedding anniversary today. We are going to go out to dinner later (nothing too fancy just incase Logan decides to be a poop like he has been all day), but it will be nice anyway, we arent fancy people. Ian really surprised me and got me an awesome gift, he got me Baby Coco!! I saw it in a Sanrio store when we went to San Antonio in February but didnt get it and then I couldnt find it again. Ian did some searching and found it for me, isnt he super cute!! He is big too, I think we will have to get some cute pictures of Logan and Coco together. Ian even got me a card, he is the best!!!

Lots of Logan

I know I am not a good blogger but its tough with a baby in 1 hand, plus I just dont like to update the blog (figured I could be honest and all). Anyway here are some updates and pics of Logan.


Jaska is still his official watch dog. She follows him everywhere, always needing to be in the same room as him and if he cries she has to come and make sure he is ok. He is starting to become a little more aware of her as you can see. Here Jaska had her wish come try and was allowed to give him kisses, however, she was not allowed to kiss him on the face like she tried!!

Logan is a little spoiled and likes to be held, I mean all the time likes to be held. I dont mind it normally, in fact I love it when he falls asleep on my chest and was just chill together during the day, but sometimes I need to actually get some stuff done. Anyway, I was really hoping somebody would get us this super cute and cool swing (thinking he would like it), and his Great Grandma Manning got it for him and it arrived this week. He loves it (sometimes), right now he is swinging away and just looking around, which is great cause he has been a little cranky today.

This is his super cute bouncy seat from Grandpa Dave. We recently got batteries so now it can also vibrate. He uses this more than anything else, but the reason I love this picture is he had just gotten done eating and i put him down in the seat and turned around and he was all sprawled out, I just thought it was too cute.

He sometimes likes tummy time. Usually he likes it but sometimes he just wants nothing to do with it. This of course was not one of those times. But he always ends up all tucked up like this, isnt it cute??

I love this picture because you can see a little smile and his dimples. You only see the dimples when he smiles, I think they are hidden under his chubby cheeks, so time will tell if they become more prominent or if they go away. All I know is while they are here they are freakin adorable!

This was after his 1 month photo shoot, so I think he was done with the pictures at this point. I really want to try and get a good one of me and him but this isnt really a good one of either of us. I will keep trying, but this is it for now...
